Born in Chestertown, Maryland, Dennis Yoder grew up on a dairy farm as the youngest of four children. He completed twelve grades of homeschool studies, graduating and earning his G.E.D. in 2003.

In 2004, one year after launching Yoder Financial Services, he took a tax-preparation course from H&R Block in order to further develop his tax preparation skills.  From 2007-2009 Dennis attended Faith Builders Educational Programs, graduating from their Ministry Apprenticing Program in 2009.  In 2012 he was licensed by the US Department of the Treasury to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent.

Dennis has served in several part-time roles—washing dishes and delivering baked goods, bookkeeping and sales for a furniture company, managing the office of a farmers’ market, and bookkeeping for a trucking company.  He is currently employed by Faith Builders as Business Office Manager and Scholarship Services Coordinator, and serves on the boards of Urban Mennonite Ministries and Streetlight Christian Ministries.  He is also a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents.

Dennis’s hobbies include reading, photography, astronomy, and travel. His desire is to know Jesus deeply and follow Him in such a way that makes Jesus attractive both to those who do not know Him and to those who are already following Him. His goal is to help bring the reality of the Kingdom to the business world in which he interacts.

After getting married they made their home in Aroda, Virginia. There Eugene milked for 15 months then did CNA work at Mt. View Nursing Home before he stepped into the school classroom. He taught in Aroda’s church school for 5 years then their family of 5 moved to Faith Builders in Northwest Pennsylvania where Eugene completed the 2 year Teacher Apprenticing Program. Following graduation in 2006 their family returned to Aroda, Virginia where Eugene again taught in the church school for 4 more years.

In late 2010, the Yoder family moved to Dinwiddie County, Virginia as part of the Aroda church outreach. There Eugene built their kitchen cabinets then found employment hauling vehicles for Proway Transport. Currently Eugene is working for a local waste removal company hauling waste water and setting restroom trailers. In the winter and early spring, he enjoys delving into tax-related work and looks forward to serving you via Yoder Financial Services.

Eugene is also very involved in their small church and church school, as well as husband/father to his wife and 8 children.  The Yoders enjoy interacting with other people as well as family recreation of biking, hiking, camping, and visiting historic sites.  Their desire is to know what it means to seek God's Kingdom 1st and live in harmony with God's plan for His world.
